Don't ever wait for me

Don't ever wait for me is the first track on my record epic love. I like to think that this photograph conveys a sense of timelessness. When you meet someone and are overcome with a sensation what feels like beyond time. That is when the mind cannot make sense anymore and the heart is due to take the lead. It almost feels like a battle between the mind and the heart. At the end the only realisation there is, is that there is no end to a love, that just is.

I will love again

I will love again is the 2nd track on epic love. The picture was shot in Umbria, Italy on a mellow day in late summer 2019. This beautiful little village by the lake seemed so unbothered in a very peaceful sense. I wondered why I was unable to wind down, if this place could just be and exist silently. Unbothered. I figured that maybe when I will have found a place to settle, I eventually can be unbothered, too. I hoped that one day I will be like the man in the middle. Unbothered. I felt a sense of knowing that I will love again. I will love again when I am unbothered. And in the meantime I would draw a picture in my mind of how it is going to feel.

Surrender

The 3rd track on epic love is the song surrender. The sun is setting in deep red. Profound and calm. This moment of beauty can only be taken in, but not held on to. Some encounters in life have a deeper meaning, but are not meant to last. Letting go rest assured that the sun will rise again in the morning. Having faith that what is meant to last, will. And so we surrender.

Werewolf

Werewolf, track no. 4 on the record is an entanglement of emotions. Fear is very much obscuring the sight. It is hard to figure out the path ahead. We are shifting shapes in line with the fear that's controlling us. One moment I feel safe with you, the next you are gone. A reflection of my own state of being. It is there, but then it's gone. But what is it? I don't know, it is yet to be understood. The photograph reflects those two sides. Dark and light, with a ray breaking through to the other side. The very side I feel drawn to. So I need to let go in order to move on.

Happy

As the 5th song on my album, happy is not quite a happy track. It comes in at a moment when there is a lot of confusion going on in my head. I chose this photograph, identifying as that crow at the time. The guilty one, who is disturbing the order of things. Little did I know, that the crow would hold the truth. Though, it was not yet the time for the trees to listen. So it had to fly off, to rid herself of the shame she would still carry. The trees weren't ready and nor was the crow. The truth still buried deep within.

Guard your heart

Guard your heart is track no. 6 on the record. Could there be a comparison drawn between protected hearts and grazing cows? It is safe and steady to do what others do, and to obey conventions. Though, love is not conventional and can never be confined. A guarded heart is not able to see the sun fully shine. Only love can.

Loving eyes

I like to think of loving eyes (track 7) as a milestone. Hope seemed to be outweighing my doubts for the first time. Feeling motivated to not give in just yet. To keep going. The photograph: I came across these colours painted on a stone by a stranger (in Cornwall, UK). They were so captivating. 'Your loving eyes won't petrify' - as a line in the song goes and continues with - 'I came a long long way to see your loving eyes don't change.' I had regained hope that this day will come. That those colours won't have faded.
